Women’s football master Bayern Munich can continue to build on defender Carolin Simon. As the club announced on Monday, the left-back extended her contract until June 2026. The 22-time international has been wearing the Bayern jersey since August 2019 and celebrated three German championships and winning the Supercup last summer.
“I am totally happy that I can continue to play for FC Bayern. I’ve been to Munich for a few years, here I am simply in the right place,” said Simon, who had come from the French top team Olympique Lyon five and a half years ago and has since completed 131 missions for FCB (18 goals, 38 templates). It was therefore “not a difficult decision”. Women’s football director Bianca Rech praised Simon, who, after her cruciate ligament injury in 2023, “incredibly well returned”, as a “important personality-on and off the square.”
