Rémy Daillet, who is imprisoned for other reasons, is also being investigated for planning coup “projects”
Rémy Daillet, a well-known French far-right militant imprisoned in France, linked to conspiratorial movements, was accused of having prepared a project for a coup d’état and attacks in the French country, sources close to the investigation indicated on Thursday.
Suspected of having organized the kidnapping of a girl in the spring, Daillet was taken from his cell on Tuesday and is currently being held by the police on suspicion of “coup plans and other violent actions”, such as an attack on a lodge. Masonic in eastern France, specified the same sources. His 67-year-old secretary was also arrested and taken into police custody. The two were being questioned at the offices of the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), these sources said.
Rémy Daillet is suspected of being “the brain” of a group that planned violent actions, according to sources close to the case. Since May, twelve people belonging to the extreme right have been arrested and charged with a “criminal terrorist” association. The investigation was entrusted to the DGSI and it became closer to the Daillet environment.
On October 8, four men, including two soldiers, were charged. Convinced that “Emmanuel Macron is at the service of money and that big capital must be ended,” these men had “the idea of a coup, of an overthrow of the French government,” according to a source in the case.
