Why does football have to be for everyone? In an interview, Dario Minden talks about the power of democracy, the dangers of capital, the DFL's predicament and the basic flaw of the 50+1 rule.

Mr. Minden, what speaks against investors in football?

Actually, it's the same question as: Who owns football? It is certainly true that football must make use of capital. But when push comes to shove, the interests of a base that comes together democratically in the club must be able to prevail against the interests of the investors. Football is played for the people who see it as a social good and make it that way, and only secondarily for people who have 10 billion and want to make 15 billion out of it.
