‘Difficult days are coming for Nairo’
“It was four very hard years, I was thinking a lot about running the middle distance, running the route in the United States, but at the end of the day what moves me, what makes my heart beat is speed, I spent a long time refusing to live That passion I’m back at speed I want to try again because it’s hard, It was four years where the training was intermittent, where I gained weight. I want to try it, I want to be in the Colombian team again, I want to fight for a place in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It is waiting for the moment of return, being little by little and earning that place, “Puerta explained about his situation.
Then, on the situation that Nairo Quintana is experiencing, he commented:
“It’s a very tough situation, I know that Nairo is not sanctioned, obviously, nobody likes to be dropped from sixth place, like him who was taken from sixth place (Tour de France), but still You will have to face a very difficult defense. It is difficult to talk to them, I had answers that came in eight days as answers that came in eight months.”
“It is a very distressing process and more so for Nairo with that substance that he himself does not explain how it could appear in his body. I think difficult days are coming for him, but I know he is a great runner and a great warrior who can come out of this victorious and in the best way”, he concluded.
