The three days of testing that saw the Formula 2 drivers busy on the Barcelona track ended this afternoon and Felipe Drugovich won with a time of 1’27 ” 529 in the morning.
The Brazilian of MP Motorsport, already protagonist in the Feature Race in Jeddah, was the fastest managing to obtain the reference time on Thursday and trimming Liam Lawson almost 3 tenths.
The New Zealander of the Carlin team finished with the second best performance of the day in 1’27 ” 820, finishing in front of a Jack Doohan who continues to confirm all his qualities on the flying lap.
The last day of testing in Barcelona saw many well-known names stand out and enter the top 10, such as Richard Verschoor. The Dutchman of the Trident team signed the fourth fastest time in 1’27 ” 858 putting himself in front of Dennis Hauger by about 1 tenth.
The Norwegian from Prema, in search of the perfect feeling on the flying lap, preceded the surprise of this start of the season Ayumu Iwasa and his teammate Jehan Daruvala. The Indian was the first driver not to go under the wall of 1’28 ” stopping the clock at a time of 1’28 ” 019, ahead of Théo Pourchaire by just 2 thousandths and Enzo Fittipaldi by 9.
The top 10 of the day was completed by the second car of the Carlin team entrusted to Logan Sargeant. The American finished with a time of 1’28”164.

Definitely higher times in the afternoon session when the teams worked focusing on race pace. To put his autograph at the top of the time list was Juri Vips.
The Estonian of Hitech GP finished in 1’29 ” 288 making a total of 36 laps and becoming the only one able to go under the 1’30 wall. Behind Vips, also protagonist of the early interruption of the session with 5 minutes from the end when he stopped with his car in turn 3, Jake Hughes finished in 1’30 ” 802.
Among the other unfortunate drivers involved in incidents that always occurred in the afternoon session, we note Dennis Hauger, who remained stationary in turn 5, and Frederik Vesti on foot in turn 15.
The Formula 2 drivers will be back on track next week, together with their Formula 3 colleagues, on the Imola track for the third round of the championship.
