Fred Vasseur congratulates Antonello Coletta’s team which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans again with the 499P of Fuoco, Nielsen and Molina, before launching the Spanish GP, a round of the world championship which must represent the Scuderia’s revenge after the double withdrawal remedied in Canada.
The team principal’s expectation is to put Ferrari back where it deserves in a challenge made up of cents with Red Bull and McLaren: the Frenchman makes no proclamations of victory knowing that on paper the Montmelò track matches the RB20, but he doesn’t hide the ambition to go to Calalunya to bring home important points…

“In the Spanish Grand Prix we want to return to the levels of competitiveness that we have always had so far in the season. The team has learned from what happened in Canada and I think we have already turned the page. We must work calmly and focus on ourselves, also encouraged by the fantastic result obtained by our Ferrari Hypercar colleagues at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where they won for the second year in a row.”
The disappointment in Montreal was dismissed as an episode to forget: Ferrari looks to Barcelona with confidence in the knowledge that it can bring out the best in itself…
“The Spanish circuit is a testing ground for the entire car package and we expect to find our usual form here. Having said that, almost always this season we have seen a fight on the edge of a hundredths both in qualifying and in the race, so it will be essential to take care of every detail.”
Fred underlines how the next GP represents Sainz’s home race and he will find extra motivation to do well…
“The team must remain super focused because it is only with perfect executions on the track that we can get to where we want and know we can be. This is Carlos’ home race and I’m sure that the fact of being supported by an extra number of fans will be a further boost of confidence for him. We have an intense weekend ahead of us in which we hope to bring home many points.”
