Ferrari has turned the page. Charles Leclerc’s second place which led to the Scuderia’s 800th podium is now on the bulletin board: attention is directed to the British GP which comes one week after Spielberg’s Austrian appointment.
Fred Vasseur, team principal of the Cavallino, is aware of the leap in quality achieved at the Red Bull Ring, but makes no proclamations in view of Silverstone, a very fast track with very different characteristics from Spielberg…
“In the last two races we have shown that we have made some steps forward by making the SF-23 more competitive. We have managed to give our drivers a single-seater that has put them in a position to attack, manage the tires well and have a constant pace”.
The French manager is aware of the tradition favorable to Ferrari on the track where Froilan González won the Prancing Horse’s first Formula 1 victory in 1951 of the 18 that were won at Silverstone…
“We know that the track is one of the historic ones of Formula 1 to which the history of Ferrari is also inextricably linked, with its high-speed corners that represent a severe test bench to verify the direction we have taken”.

Vasseur does not forget Carlos Sainz’s first success in Great Britain last year and trusts in the Maranello team to continue the positive streak, without however launching into predictions, as if the English appointment is less favorable to the red than it is been the Red Bull Ring…
“We know that we can count on the contribution of both of our drivers: Carlos took his first Formula 1 victory a year ago, while Charles has come close to success several times and has often said that Silverstone is on his list of permanent favorite circuits. We will work as a team and we will do everything to put them in a position to fight with the usual fierce rivals.”
Pirelli will debut the new construction tyres, more resistant to very strong stresses: another variable to take into account for the engineers when setting up the cars, given that Silverstone features corners such as Maggotts, Becketts, Chapel which are among the most world challengers with Copse and which enhance the tuning qualities with an aerodynamic configuration aimed at the minimum resistance to progress.
For this reason we will see very unloaded wings, similar to those used in Baku and Montreal and a new diffuser should make its debut at the rear, a further element that should complete the aerodynamic package that we saw making its debut in the Spanish GP.
