Spanish GP, details of the Barcelona F1 circuit
The Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix has been held since 1991 on Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, which extends for 4,657 meters and is traveled clockwise. The race takes place over the distance of 66 lapswith pilots covering a distance of approx 307 kilometers.
From a technical point of view the track provides 16 curvesincluding the famous one Seine Curve and the Campsa and the long straight of 1,047 m, which allows the single-seaters to reach a maximum speed of 320 km/hlower than that of other circuits due to the high aerodynamic load required to travel the rest of the track.
The Montmelò circuit was chosen in the past for the pre-season tests of Formula 1, thanks to its ideal technical characteristics for evaluating the performance of cars in various scenarios.
In the roll of honor, Max Verstappen is fresh from the victories of 2022 And 2023. The Red Bull driver also holds the absolute record of the track with the time of 1’12″272thanks to which he conquered the pole position in 2023 and the fastest lap in the race in 1’16″330always scored in the victorious 2023 edition.
