Horner: champagne now or Sunday?
Conor Moore, an Irish artist who in 2022 became a cult with his imitations of F1 even with the drivers themselves, on the eve of the 2023 championship published the first episode dedicated to the new season with the usual roundup of caricatures, not without welcome news. It obviously starts from the Red Bull house, where Max Verstappen looks suspiciously at his boxmate Sergio Perez. The novelty of the Milton Keynes team for 2023 is the return of Daniel Ricciardo as third driver. The Australian literally wishes his teammates a ‘break a leg’, which is the equivalent of the Italian ‘good luck’. The meeting between Horner and his drivers ends with the team principal trying to keep calm and serious until he ‘breaks down’ asking “so, shall we open the champagne now or on sunday?“. The video is from before the race weekend, but the impersonator’s bluster actually came true at the race in Bahrain.
Vasseur and the strategies of Will Buxton
Obviously Mattia Binotto is no longer in Ferrari and in his place Conor Moore must imitate Frederic Vasseur with a very good French accent. Charles Leclerc – one of the most difficult characters to imitate by admission of the Irishman himself – asks the new team principal if there will be improvements at a strategic level and in this regard Vasseur proposes to his drivers the strategy of Will Buxton (official F1 TV presenter) that is, finishing first means winning races. Leclerc doesn’t take it well.
Stroll senior and son Alonso
In addition to Vasseur among the new entries there is also Lawrence Stroll, owner of Aston Martin, who he only has eyes for Fernando Alonso, who provocatively asks if he can call him ‘dad’ leaving an incredulous Lance displaced. “I would be honored”, the response of a moved Lawrence.
Totominator
Toto Wolff is presented in the guise of a new ‘Terminator’. “I will be back. And you with me“the Austrian manager opens menacingly in the light of a Mercedes in obvious difficulty, in which George Russell is still busy trying to steal the place of favorite driver from a Lewis Hamilton who is as always somewhat distracted and convinced that he still has Valtteri Bottas by his side.
Steiner
The video closes with Gunther Steinerpreemptively committed to insulting his riders and warning patron Gene Haas that the season is f**ked even before it starts.
