Prior to the official announcement from the Milton Keynes company, several names were heard as possible successors to Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez in Red Bull Racing: Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, Fernando Alonso, Carlos Sainz Jr, Alexander Albon, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda.
However, none of the aforementioned will occupy the position that Sergio Pérez belongs to by maintaining his relationship with Red Bull Racing for the next two years in Formula One.
Lando Norris will remain with McLaren, Fernando Alonso renewed with Aston Martin, while Esteban Ocon will not continue at Alpine at the end of the 2024 season and his future in Formula One is unknown, as are Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz Jr. and Yuki Tsunoda until this moment.
