Red Bull feeds the mystery about the RB19. The new Milton Keynes single-seater turned today at Silverstone for the first filming day and in the 100 km distance allowed by the FIA, both regular drivers took turns at the wheel of Adrian Newey’s new creature: the two-time world champion Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
The team has posted short videos on the social media platforms in which we can glimpse the car passing at speed in front of the wall and then an artfully blurred return to the pit lane so as not to allow prying eyes to see the 2023 car.
Red Bull’s idea is to keep the RB19 hidden until the pre-season tests scheduled in Bahrain from February 23rd to 25th, even if from the grandstands of the English track there are those who have posted short videos taken in a facility that was to be behind closed doors. Therefore, it is not excluded that some images may appear in the next few days to break the secrecy with which Milton Keynes fuels the wait for the car with the #1.
In the presentation in New York on February 3, the motor partnership with Ford was made official, which from 2026 will make its return to Formula 1 by affixing a sticker to the Red Bull bodywork and perhaps contributing to the development of some electrical component of the power unit.
To attract media attention it was said that there would be the RB19 but, as we had imagined, only the new livery on the world champion car was seen, garnering the disappointment and protests of many fans who were disappointed by the attitude Red Bull who evidently didn’t learn last year’s lesson.
The game of keeping the RB19 hidden and it will be curious to see if Christian Horner’s staff will be able to keep the 2023 single-seater top secret or if we will find a “stolen” preview…
