F1 | McLaren: Stella extends contract as team principal

McLaren today announced a multi-year contract extension with Andrea Stella as Team Principal, a key step in planning the team’s future. Since Stella took over as Team Principal from Andreas Seidl, McLaren has continued its impressive growth, winning two Grands Prix and taking eighteen podiums, putting it firmly in contention for the 2024 Constructors’ Championship.

“It is a privilege to be part of this team,” Stella commented, “and I am honored to be able to continue in the role of team principal. We have made great strides in the last year and a half, we know we still have a lot of work to do to achieve the goals we have set ourselves, a challenge that I find exciting.”

My thanks go to Zak for the trust he has placed in me as a leader and to all my colleagues in the team for their collaboration and support”.

Over the past year, McLaren has laid solid foundations on which to plan its future. The first contract renewals involved the drivers, with both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri having been confirmed with multi-year extensions, followed today by the renewal with Stella.
