The International Federation also formally canceled this year’s Russian Grand Prix.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “As you know, the FIA is watching the developments of the crisis in Ukraine with great sadness and shock. I hope for a quick and peaceful resolution of the current situation. We condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine and our thoughts turn to all those who suffer from the events in Ukraine ”.
No Russian or Belarusian national team will be allowed to participate in events such as i Motorsport Games. Russian and Belarusian members of the FIA Commissions will also have to temporarily resign from their roles.
Ben Sulayem added: “I want to thank the members of the World Council for their prompt action in taking measures in the interests of sport and peace. We are in solidarity with Leonid Kostyuchenko, the president of the Federation Automobile d’Ukraine (FAU) and the representatives of the FIA family in the country ”.
Nikita Mazepin, therefore, is authorized to participate in the Formula 1 season with Haas: we will see what the American team’s attitude towards him will be after the doubts that had emerged in recent days, especially after the disappearance of the sponsor Uralkali from the sides of the VF-21.
Ferrari tester Robert Shwartzman will also have the opportunity to drive the F1-75 in the two events in which the Scuderia will be forced to field a young driver in FP1.
