Chinese GP, details of the F1 circuit
The Shanghai International Circuit hosts the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix. It is located in Jiading, Shanghai, and has a total length of approximately 5,451 kilometers (with the race taking place over the distance 56 laps). The circuit, designed by Hermann Tilkeis known for its combination of 16 curves fast and slow, with a long straight at the back of the track.
In the history of F1, the Shanghai track hosted its first Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2004 only to temporarily withdraw from the scene in 2020 due to the COVID-19. The last time the Chinese Grand Prix took place was in 2019, in a celebratory event in which the thousand races in the history of Formula 1 were celebrated. This year, the one in China is the first of six Grands Prix to adopt the format Sprint, which includes changes to parc fermé. The month of April in Shanghai usually sees significant changes in temperature, adding a further challenge for teams and drivers.
The race usually requires two pit stops and offers several overtaking opportunities. Lewis Hamilton he is the winningest driver on the track, with six victories, followed by Fernando Alonso And Daniel Ricciardo. There Mercedes is the most successful team with six successes, followed by Ferrari and from Red Bull. Sebastian Vettel he achieved his first victory here in 2009.
