F1: Checo Pérez accepts his mistakes that led him to be left out in Canada: ‘There is nothing to hide’

Sergio Perez He did not hold anything back when trying to explain the reasons why he was left out of the Canadian Grand Prix. The Mexican had a couple of accidents that reduced his performance, but it was the second one that managed to take him out of the race, thus closing another weekend for the Red Bull number 11 to be forgotten.

Already in the mixed zone, Pérez Mendoza spoke to the media and spoke about his situation. Checo was very self-critical and accepted that the start of the race and the accident that destroyed his rear wing were his fault. The Mexican accepted that it was not his best weekend but that he hopes to improve.

“A very bad weekend, yesterday we understood the reasons, we had a problem with the suspension, we were able to compensate but with the conditions today, with the contact with Gasly I had the wing damaged throughout the first part of the race,” he explained. Checo Pérez to Fox Sports.

“In the end it is a complicated weekend, there is no need to hide anything, things are as they are and to think about what’s next and to learn from mistakes,” added the Mexican.

Then he assured that the exit and the collision were his fault, “I made the mistake, I touched the wet part and I couldn’t stop the car, they were very difficult conditions and I was one of those pilots who made mistakes today“said the Mexican.

Sergio Pérez also highlighted that they are working to return to their best level just as they reached just two races ago. He was also questioned about the statement of Helmut Marko and mental problems and Checo made it clear that he has not been able to give his best version but that he is working to do so.
