Alpine has approved the A524 chassis. The Enstone team has passed all the crash tests for which it obtained certification from the FIA and can plan with confidence the 2024 championship which will have to relaunch the transalpine brand after the disappointing sixth place in the Constructors' World Championship last season.
The French manufacturer will therefore be able to show the new single-seater at the presentation which will take place in Enstone on Tuesday 7 February at 1.30pm Italian time. It is interesting to note that Alpine will take the opportunity to show not only the A524 which will be entrusted to Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon in the GPs, but also the Hypercar which will participate in the WEC in the LMDh version with the A442.
Compared to the single-seater that raced last year, the project has been profoundly revised by the technical staff directed by Matt Hartman: one of the objectives sought was the significant drop in weight to bring the 798 kg limit closer, and the other that of improve the packaging between chassis and Renault power unit to improve aerodynamic efficiency with a different arrangement of accessories on the sides.
Bruno Famin, head of Alpine sporting activities and team principal in F1, plans to make a change in the team's performance in the GPs to bring it closer to the top teams that want to fight with the prevailing Red Bull.
