The hotels in Extremadura received 144,748 travelers in Septemberwhich represents 9.1% more compared to the same month in 2023 and the highest growth among the 17 Autonomous Communities, according to data released this Wednesday by the INE.
Of the total travelers (144,748), 115,3247 were residents of Spain and 29,401 non-residents in the country. In this sense, the growth of 21.2% of international tourists stayed in hotels in Extremadura, also the best percentage of all Spanish regions.
With regards to the overnight staysthese totaled 255,347 in September, 7.7% more in annual comparison. Of the total, 44,862 were generated by foreign travelers, an increase of 22.3% compared to last year. In these two data (total and international overnight stays), Extremadura ranked third and first in the national ranking, respectively.
In September, the average level of occupancy of hotels in the region was 45.9%, an improvement of 6.1% compared to the same month in 2023 (43.3%).
In turn, the average daily billing per occupied room (ADR) was 66.41 euros2.8% more in annual variation, while the average daily income per available room (RevPar) reached 36.04 euros, an increase of 8.9%.
All the main indicators (travelers, overnight stays, occupancy level, billing and income) are the best for a month of September since the beginning of the historical series, in 2010.
