The dams in Irrigation District 005 continue to show a downward trend, because extraction from Boquilla and Francisco I. Madero has not decreased, and the water that has arrived from the upper Sierra basin due to the rains is insufficient.
On Saturday the 20th, Boquilla maintained a level of 1,293.29 meters above sea level with a storage of 513.13 million cubic meters (Mm3). The following week, its volume began to increase due to rainfall, reaching its highest capacity on Sunday the 28th with 520.24 Mm3 with a level of 1,293.45 meters, 16 centimeters more.
During this period, the extraction rate was 29 meters per second, which dropped to 19, then rose to 24 and the 29 meters were extracted again.
In the last 10 days, however, the inflow of different volumes of water fell by just over 20 Mm3, from 520.24 to 499.83 million, reaching 17.56% of its total capacity.
Vírgenes had its highest capacity in recent days on Wednesday, July 31, with 54.96 million cubic meters and a level of 1,225.98 meters above sea level.
Since that day, this reservoir has not stopped extracting water at 3 meters per second, and then 2 for 6 days. Therefore, although water has arrived from the basin, as of yesterday it barely had 51.71 Mm3, with a percentage of 15.52% of its capacity.
