A series of powerful explosions occurred near the airfield in the Crimean Dzhankoy
Residents of the Crimean city of Dzhankoy reported powerful explosions in the area of the local airfield. According to them, several loud bangs were heard at once at about four o’clock in the morning (the time coincides with Moscow) on Wednesday, April 17. The first one rang out at about 3:40.
Previously, an air defense system (air defense) was activated in the north of the peninsula. According to Baza, the airfield was attacked by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). They fired seven or eight missiles. The publication claims that Ukrainian troops used ballistic missiles, without specifying what kind of weapons we are talking about.
Eyewitnesses report that following the explosions, a fire started in a field near the airfield; its cause is unknown. There is no official information yet.
In footage posted online, you can see plumes of smoke and red flashes of fire.

After reports from local residents about the sounds of explosions, a section of the Dzhankoy – Feodosia highway was temporarily closed to traffic. A detour was organized for him, said the head of the Crimean Ministry of Transport, Nikolai Lukashenko.
The road, which was blocked for traffic, leads to the village of Pobednoye. Drivers were asked to go around it along the Yalta highway through the villages of Sernovodskoye, Rubinovka and Azovskoye.
“The bus routes for regular suburban and intercity services have been temporarily changed. A temporary detour scheme will be published soon,” Lukashenko said. He promised to provide additional information about the lifting of restrictions on the peninsula and apologized to residents for the inconvenience caused.
