The actress Rossy de Palma will see his career recognized with the Isaac del Rivero Award of the 62nd edition of Xixón International Film Festival (FICX)which will be held from November 15 to 23, an opening gala will be hosted by the interpreter Julián López.
The contest, which was presented this Friday, will screen a total of 169 titles, of which more than 70 will be premieres in Spain and 15 are world premieres or absolute premieres.
In addition to Rossy de Palmathe Greek director, screenwriter, actress and producer Athina Rachel Tsangari and the precursor of cinema underground Spanish and French Ado Arrieta will receive the Honor Awards; danish actress Lone Flemingthe Mutant Generation Award “in recognition of a radiant and extensive career with more than 40 films”, and the Catalan director and screenwriter Carla Simonthe Comadre de Cine, awarded in collaboration with the Tertulia Feminista les Comadres
As detailed by the director of the Xixon International Film Festival, Alejandro Díaz Castañoaround 200 filmmakers will pass through the festival, among which directors such as Radu Jude, Albert Serra and Montse Triola and performers such as Ingrid García-Jonsson, Ramón Barea, Assumpta Serna, Julián López and Joaquín Reyes stand out.
The film that will open the FICX will be the short film ‘The cause of the accident that caused the fire’”, by Lope Serrano, which will precede the screening of the musical feature film ‘Gloria!’, by the Italian actress and singer-songwriter Margherita Vicario.
Alejandro Díaz Castaño has celebrated that “it is increasingly understood” that this film event is “a cultural treasure” and not a “political weapon.”
The programmer of the contest, Tito Rodríguez, has highlighted, among other aspects, the “good harvest of Asturian cinema” in this year’s edition, with 18 short films and 19 feature films, 15 of them strictly produced in Asturias.
The Government Spokesperson of the Xixón City Council, Jesús Martínez Salvador, has valued that the FICX is “increasingly larger, a reference and necessary” and is becoming “something more than an institution” for the city.
This year the Festival will double the offer of complementary activities compared to previous editions, with a total of 28 which, added to the programming of the Toma 3 venue and the FICX Nights, mark a significant growth compared to other years.
