The world of music and dance in the Marche region is mourning the death of Michele Giovanelli. The dancer and choreographer from Pesaro discovered in October last year that he was suffering from a terrible illness, which over the months took all of him, until it took him away last night at the age of 57. Countless and heartbreaking messages of condolence have appeared on the web in recent hours.
The city of Pesarothe Marche and the entire Italy of dance are deeply saddened by the death of Michele Giovanelli, well-known dancer and choreographerwho throughout his career has given a lot to the entire provincial, regional and national environment, participating and contributing to the creation of many enormously successful festivals.
Last October he unfortunately discovered that he was suffering from a bad bad. The disease took a piece of him at a time, until it took him away forever last night. His courage and his strength, which he never lacked during the fight, nor the treatments the doctors subjected him to were of no use.
Parallel to his career in dance he had worked on Biesse of Pesaro and had just recently gone to early retirement. Next to him, until the end, was his life partner Alessandra Zanchi, also a very important personality in the local artistic environment. Last May 14th the two were united in marriage with a very intimate and private function.
Giovanelli had also been teacher at the dance school Hangart of Pesaro. And right there she had met Gloryone of his pupil which then became his collaborator and who today, devastated, remembers him with a touching message on social media:
We met during the contemporary dance course that Michele held at the Hangart school in Pesaro. What remains of those first moments is the great humanity, availability, kindness, attention and care that Michele put into his work and into his relationships with people. Qualities that he has always kept intact. (…) He Dance united us, like an invisible thread that will never break, because Michele was an important part of my professional journey as well as a true friend. Together with him and Alessandra, I danced and shared projects and dreams.
