Candidates for Mayor of São Paulo are joining the 7th of September. Pablo Marcal (PRTB) arrived after Bolsonaro had already spoken. In a note sent to the press, he said that he was invited to the event by Bolsonaro himself, but that hehi “prevented” from accessing the trios. Malafaia, however, denied having blocked him.
The current mayor, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), Marçal’s opponent in the dispute for the capital of São Paulo, had a discreet participation in the act. Nunes’s advisors told the Poder360 that he got on the trio next to Bolsonaro, the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), and his vice-presidential candidate, Colonel Mello Araujo (PL). However, the mayor did not make a speech.
Also present were Eduardo Ribeiro, president of Novo, and Marina Helenacandidate for mayor of São Paulo for the party.
Tarcísio, unlike Nunes, spoke to Bolsonaro’s supporters. The governor declared that the Congress must grant amnesty to political prisoners. It was a reference to those condemned on January 8th, although Tarcísio did not mention them directly.
Former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro did not attend.
The demonstration on Paulista Avenue was organized by Malafaia. Poder360he said that, with his own resources, he rented 2 electric trios to accommodate the authorities present.
