Germany kept a clean sheet for the fourth time in a row when they beat Austria 2-0 in the quarter-finals.
Football the second semi-final team after England made it to the women’s European Championship, as Germany beat Austria 2-0 in the quarter-final match in London late Thursday.
Germany took a 1–0 lead in the 25th minute Lina Magullin with a cunning hit. Klara Bühl beat Austria in a duel by Carina Wenninger and cut from the wing into the penalty area. After that, Bühl passed towards the backslant Alexandra Poppi, who let the ball pass under his foot to Magull who was behind him. This shot the ball freely past the Austrian goalkeeper by Manuela Zinsberger to guard the goal.
Germany’s second goal came in the 90th minute from a mistake by Zinsberger. The goalkeeper shot the ball towards Poppi, and the ball bounced into the Austrian goal.
Germany has now played four matches in the tournament and has not conceded a goal. The team will face the winner of Saturday’s France-Netherlands quarter-final in the semifinals.
