Twists and turns and a constant, the speed shown by the 1997 Formula 1 world champion, Villeneuve, who at the wheel of his EuroNascar FJ number 5 car (Academy Motorsport / Alex Caffi) scored a double in both races reserved for the “queen” class of the championship. This was won by Hezemans (Hendriks Motorsport), fifth in race-2 at Vallelunga, who took no risks. Behind Villeneuve, Gianmarco Ercoli (who won the Junior Trophy title, reserved for the Under 25s) and the Israeli Alon Day got on the podium; fourth Lucas Lasserre. Vittorio Ghirelli was out on lap five due to a problem with the brakes of his Chevrolet Camaro (Not Only Motorsport), which ended the championship in fifth position.

“If we hadn’t missed pole position on Saturday, we would have had the perfect weekend,” said Villeneuve. The car was really flying. We didn’t have the speed on the straights, but we had the pace in the corners and that worked. At one point I didn’t want to get involved in the battle for the championship, but Loris was slowing me down and the guys behind me were very close. I had to try and then it would have been just a matter of managing the gap ”. Euphoria in the words at the end of the race of Hezemans, 24, who wins the second success in the EuroNascar Pro (after 2019) and from the 2022 season will be engaged in America with the Nascar Cup Series (part-time commitment with probability) and Xfinity Series (entire season): “There are no words to describe this moment. This is the perfect farewell before leaving for the United States ”.
