The Italians and the help of the psychologist. “About 3 in 10 (29.7%) have sought support from a psychologist. 10.3% have followed online therapy sessions. A lower percentage have experienced psychiatric therapy (7.6%), or have participated to group psychological therapies (6.7%). 5.3% of respondents indicated that they had attended addiction support centres”. This is highlighted by the 36th Eurispes Italy Report, published today.
“It is above all women, compared to men – emerges from the report – who experience the different forms of psychological and therapeutic support to a slightly greater extent. For example, a greater percentage of women have followed sessions with a psychologist, both in traditional and online form , corresponding respectively to 31.7% (compared to 27.7% of men) and 11.6% (compared to 8.9% of men) of the sample; for group psychological therapy: 7.6% of women versus 5.7% of men”.
Young people “between 18 and 24 years of age are the most affected in terms of the occurrence of mood swings (72.7%), depressive symptoms (71%), panic attacks (51.2%)”. The report photographs the emotional difficulties of Italians and young people are the most fragile. “Over the last year – we read – mood swings have represented an emotional state shared by 60% of Italians, even if with different intensities (sometimes: 39.7%; often: 16.8%; always : 3.6%). Insomnia (59%) and the feeling of feeling depressed (58.9%) were equally widespread”.
