Estonian Prime Minister Kallas said that Russia prevented her from becoming NATO Secretary General
Prime Minister Kaja Kallas complained that Russia prevented her from becoming NATO Secretary General. According to the politician, Moscow put her on the wanted list to send a signal to the Europeans that Callas is an anti-Russian provocateur, writes Sputnik.
As the Prime Minister of Estonia emphasized, there are forces in Europe that take such situations into account.
“When we talk about different positions at the European level or in NATO, the main argument against me is that I am an anti-Russian provocateur. That’s why they put me on this list to make it clear that I was provoking them,” Kallas said.
Earlier, Kaya Kallas said that fears are preventing the West from fully supporting Ukraine. The politician called on “to act decisively” when providing assistance to Kyiv and not to fall “into the trap of fear.”
Last November, the Estonian Prime Minister confirmed her desire to become the next NATO Secretary General. Prior to this, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced a similar desire.
