Esports and Streamer terms are prohibited

Today there are many terms in the video game industry, and by far two of the most famous are sports Y streamers, which are used for special competitive gaming events. And although this is a great step towards normalizing the use of this language, some are not so convinced to include it in everyday speech.

And it is that in France The use of these terms linked to video games has been strictly prohibited, justifying that they are seeking the protection of the beauty of the current language. Specifically, it was the members of the Ministry of Culture who are making the ban, pointing out directly that many people would not understand the meaning.

They have even replaced each of the terms, and now streamers will be known as Live host player, a description that totally fits the position being talked about. For its part, sports will be changed by Competition video gamea description that could be a bit more confusing, since the sentence is a bit longer than necessary.

It is also said that phrases like CloudGaming will be replaced with Cloud video game, something that did not really need a change, unless it is for older people. The terms already mentioned should be used in the different official media, especially those that are addressed to a general public.

editor’s note: Without a doubt, this rule could be a good initiative for parents, grandparents and other people to learn a little more about the world of video games. This so that they understand the context in which children, grandchildren and other young people speak.
