Equestrian Laila Al Marzouqi won the title of the 140 km International Endurance Challenge “3 stars” race at the Samorin fields in Slovakia. Al Marzouqi snatched her first title outside the country, covering the total distance on the horse “Zori” achieving 12:06:36 hours at an average speed of 16 km/hour.
Al Marzouqi stressed that her first win outside the country means a lot to her, along with her horse, which is also the first horse she has owned and participated with in Europe. It also highlights the capabilities of Emirati women in taking on the challenge of foreign races. She expressed her thanks and appreciation to Al Kamda Stables for their support and motivation, and for helping her achieve her aspirations to become a distinguished rider in endurance races.
She said: “I found encouragement from my family and father to pursue my passion for equestrianism. I also received great support from Sherine Stables in Slovakia, under the supervision of trainer Dominika, to train my horse “Zori” and prepare him for this race.”
It is worth noting that Al Marzouqi won 3 titles last season, the first came in the 101 km Al Wasl race at Dubai International Endurance City on the horse “Tonki de Beau Marly” last November, then the second came in the Martyrs’ Day Cup race on the horse “Chafik Drabi” at Dubai International Endurance City also in November, and the third came in the private stables race within the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Endurance Festival at Boudheib International Equestrian Village on the horse “Chafik Drabi” last February.
