News that certainly did not go unnoticed and that, as reported by theAgiprompted many Sardinian citizens to storm the supermarkets. This, of course, for the fear of running out of food. Starting with oil, passing through flour and pasta, up to milk and bread, in just one day many supermarkets found themselves with empty shelves.
Not only Sardinia, even in Florence many bartenders and restaurateurs decide to make large stocks. For this reason, as reported by Il Corriere della Sera, Unicoop Firenze has decided to put a ceiling of up to four packages for the purchases of flour, oil and sugar.
In Liguria, however, the Eurospin of Vallecrosia, in the province of Imperia, has decided to ration the sale of seed oil. Decisions, those just mentioned, which have also been taken in many other places, in order to be able to cope with the current situation and try to guarantee access to various foods for all.
At the moment, it should be emphasized, the risk of having supermarkets with empty shelves due to possible strikes it is not concrete. As reiterated by the mayor of Nuoro, Andrea Soddu, through a post on Facebook, in fact: “I would like to reassure citizens by informing them that at the moment there is no supply risk as regards the supply of basic necessities and fuels”.
He then added: “The news circulated yesterday via WhatsApp is devoid of any foundation. The risk exists only if this assault on the supermarket continues, which we saw yesterday and today. […] At the moment the strike will last one day and certainly not able to jeopardize the supply of basic necessities “.
