Empowher: the ASUS project dedicated to women

ASUS presents the Empowher project, a program launched thanks to the collaboration with PoliHub and the startup Tutored, which aims to encourage female entrepreneurship and the promotion of young talents. The aim of the project is to give talented students the foundations to design and start a startup.

The foundations of the Empowher project are represented by the synergistic collaboration of three realities that share the same principles and innovative spirit. ASUS has always had the goal of bringing innovation to people to achieve incredible results not only in the technological field, but above all with a view to creating long-term value in the context in which it is inserted. For this reason, ASUS has decided to work alongside Politecnico di Milano’s Innovation Park & Startup Accelerator, PoliHub, to identify innovative startups in line with the brand’s purpose: to stand alongside people and contribute technology to create a better future. Principles on which Tutored has based its work since its inception and which it has condensed into the conception of the Empowher project.

ASUS launched a call to startups thanks to the support of PoliHub, at the end of which they considered Tutored – an Italian startup that proposes itself as a digital meeting point for university students and recent graduates with companies – the ideal reality with which to collaborate, and Empowher a program that can make a positive contribution to the community. In addition to supporting the startup in the realization of the project at a strategic and economic level, ASUS is committed to providing consultancy, through selected mentors of PoliHub, to help it in achieving its objectives.

The Empowher project will provide students and recent graduates from all Italian universities free of charge with a learning path on the methodologies and fundamental steps to create a startup from scratch in the Health Care, Smart Cities, Green Economy and Cybersecurity sectors.

The course will be divided into 9 scheduled appointments over a period of four months. The courses will be held by specialists in the sector: entrepreneurs, business angels and managers who will be able to transfer the skills acquired in the field to the students. Arriving at the end of the path, the aspiring entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to illustrate (both individually and as a group) their startup idea in front of sector stakeholders who, in turn, will be able to decide to finance the project and start the startup. Those who do not reach the final stage will still receive a certificate and, above all, will have the opportunity to present themselves in the world of work with an important set of specific skills.

In Italy, only 13 out of 100 innovative startups are female-run. For this reason Tutored and ASUS have decided to create a support network able to help university students and recent graduates who have an idea and who want to put it into practice. This project therefore arises from the desire to tear down the walls that make it difficult to create and set up a startup.

“ASUS has always been looking for the incredible, and this desire is also and above all reflected in the support of the community in which we operate. – he claims Lavinia Fogolari, Marketing Manager ASUS SYS PCthanks to the skills of PoliHub we got to know several startups with very interesting projects. Our choice finally fell on Tutored, which was able to present an innovative and cutting-edge idea, in line with the purpose and vision of ASUS, together with a determination and a desire to do without equal. We are thrilled to assist and support the birth of Empowher, a project that aims to encourage Italian entrepreneurship, especially women. “

“We are proud of this partnership with ASUS which has produced a truly special project, also from a social point of view – declares Gabriele Giugliano, CEO and co-founder of TutoredEmpowher was born with the idea of putting female students at the center of a unique path, able to provide them with the specific tools and know-how to be able to see an idea become reality. The project also responds to a very specific need: many young people are looking for support, advice and information on how to develop their startup idea. Tutored itself was born in a similar context and therefore we know how many occasions like Empowher can be crucial to create something important, which produces value for the community “.

PoliHub is committed to making startups communicate with established companies. The former need the others to validate their solutions on the market, the latter find ideas and products in startups to innovate their offer, at the same time helping to support the growth of new businesses – he claims Enrico Deluchi, General Manager of PoliHub. We are therefore happy to have been able to support ASUS and Tutored in the development of the Empowher project, fully aligned with our mission in enhancing talent and supporting entrepreneurship “.

ASUS, PoliHub and Tutored are therefore part, working in synergy, in a project aimed at accelerating female entrepreneurship, as well as fighting female unemployment and brain drain, both great difficulties in our country that must be addressed and addressed. Thanks to the skills of PoliHub, the technological and innovative support of ASUS, and the ideas of a rapidly growing reality like that of Tutored, the three companies launch a project entirely dedicated to the youngest minds in Italy.
