Liberia.- Honesty is one of the most important values in human beings and an example of this is the story of Emmanuel Tuloe, a young mototaxi driver who last year returned 990 thousand pesos that was found dumped on the side of the road in Liberia.
That act of honesty changed Emmanuel Tuloe’s life, as he has now been able to return to school and received a few thousand dollars to help his poor family get ahead.
Emmanuel dropped out of school when he was nine to start working to bring money home after the death of his father, who drowned in an accident, so the boy went to live with his aunt.

A few years later, the young man became a motorcycle taxi driver with what he could survive, until one day last year while driving he found a small plastic bag that he had 990 thousand Mexican pesos insidealthough it was a mixture of dollars and Liberian bills.
Although he could easily keep the money, Emmanuel gave it to his aunt to take care of until one day on the radio he heard a man asking for help to find the cash, so the young man did not hesitate to show up to deliver what was in the bag.
Although many ridiculed his action in returning the money, Emmanuel benefited from several people who gave as reward a place to study at one of the most prestigious schools in his country, the Rocks Institute.
In addition, the president of Liberia, George Weah, gave him 10,000 dollars, about 198,000 Mexican pesos, while a local media gave him the amount raised by the television and radio audience; added to the thousand 500 dollars, 30 thousand dollars, donated in goods by the owner of the money.
At the age of 19, Emmanuel study at a prestigious institute which was established 135 years ago for the elite of society in Liberia.
Upon entering, he needed extra support after spending many years outside the educational system, which left Emmanuel a little behind compared to his peers who are several years younger than him.

The teacher, Tamba Bangbeor told the BBC that when Emmanuel entered the school “he felt a bit inferior; he couldn’t express himself in class, but we worked with him day in and day out. Academically, he came in with low fundamentals, so we placed him in an educational enrichment program. That has been helping him.”
Emmanuel dreams of studying accounting at university, probably in the United States after receiving a full scholarship offer, the young man said he wants to “prepare himself to be able to help guide the good use of the country’s money.”
