The United Arab Emirates is participating in the 11th session of the Sour International Film Festival for Short Films, which begins today, Saturday, with the film “A Prayer of Hope” by director Hamad Mohammed Al Hammadi, which is based on a real life story of a nurse from outside the community in which the film’s events take place. The film highlights the values of tolerance and coexistence in society. the society.
Meanwhile, Morocco participated in the film “The Truth” by its director, Lakhdar El Hamdaoui, whose events revolve around a couple who have doubts between them, highlighting the relationship between truth and fiction, where things can sometimes change and other times they may remain as they are.
Morocco is also participating in another film, “Silent Moaning,” directed by Moroccan Maryam Jabbour, in which it sheds light on the suffering of people with autism and their families, through the story of the young man “Younes,” who lives with his father, “Idriss,” in a modest house.
In addition to the Emirates and Morocco, other European and international countries are participating in the session, which is organized in the Lebanese city of Tyre, with films distributed between fiction, documentary, and animation, namely: Saudi Arabia, which participates with the film “Shunt,” Iraq with the film “Connection,” and the Sultanate of Oman with the film “Paper Ship.” And Bahrain with the movie “Front.”
Other countries are also participating, including: France, Iran, Syria, Switzerland, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Palestine, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Poland, Finland, Zambia, Norway, Iceland, Spain, Argentina, Czechia, Canada. And Lebanon.
The festival awards many awards, including the Best Narrative Film Award, the Best Documentary Film Award, the Best Animation Film Award, the Best Actor Award, the Best Actress Award, the Best Cinematography Award, and the Jury Award.
