The filly “The Queen”, with the logo of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, completed a “historic double” for the “Emirates Horses” in the British Guineas races, after being crowned with the “1000 Guineas” title for fillies at the “Newmarket” track.
The Emirati achievement comes in the wake of Godolphin’s “Notable Speach” winning the 2000 Guineas, and the “Queen” filly was able to snatch the high classic title for the first category, over a distance of 1,600 metres, during the Guineas race ceremony, which also witnessed the victory of “Mountain Breeze” for Godolphin.
The 3-year-old daughter of Kingman pushed strongly in the final meters of the race to snatch the title from Porta Fortuna, supervised by Aiden Donaca and driven by Tom Marquand, ahead by a neck, recording 1:37:05 minutes.
The victory of the filly “Mountain Breeze” for Godolphin came in the fifth race for two-year-old fillies, led by William Buick and supervised by Charlie Appleby, for a distance of 1000 meters, and she recorded 1:00:17 minutes.
