Emigrant family flees Portugal because of nightmare neighbors

The dream of emigrating ends in disaster. Neighbors are apparently making life hell for a couple with two daughters.

Lisbon – Building a new life on a farm in a remote location in Portugal – that was the plan for a family with two children. The country with the seemingly endless Atlantic coast attracts emigrants from all over the world. The sun is shining and it is said that you can live quite comfortably there even with little money. The history of the British family shows a completely different picture.

Neighbors killed their dog, abducted their cats and poisoned a goat, Lynn and Richard claim. The couple and their daughters were insulted and threatened as “English pigs”. They report a “storm of discontent” from the villagers. The mother of two fears for her safety in Portugal and flew back to the UK earlier this year.

“I just couldn’t take it anymore and that was my absolute lowest point,” Lynn tells the British tabloid The Sun. The mother of two daughters was afraid of being alone in the house and therefore stayed in the largest city in the area. “It was so bad that I only went into the yard armed with a knife.”

The dream of Portugal has shattered. According to their own statements, the family of four lost almost everything. Friends collect monetary donations on the platform GoFundme. Lynn also speaks out there, describing her desperate situation.

The fate of the family in Portugal is apparently not an isolated case

Her start into a new life eight years ago (2016) was accompanied by a film team Channel 4 for “Our Wildest Dreams.” At first her life was “great”. After the TV show was broadcast in 2018, the attacks by the villagers probably began.

Portugal is also considered a magical destination for retirees. There are numerous tips and unbeatable offers on the internet, especially for the Algarve.
