The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced that the Joint Assessment Team for Weather and Tropical Situations confirmed the end of the weather situation that the country witnessed.
The authority stated in a statement yesterday that continuous monitoring and follow-up operations had been intensified during the previous days, in order to ensure that the necessary measures were taken to deal with the situation in a proactive, professional and flexible manner by the concerned authorities.
The joint evaluation team indicated that it held a series of meetings under the chairmanship of the Emergency and Crisis Authority, with the participation of the Ministry of Interior, the National Center of Meteorology, and a group of relevant government agencies.
For its part, the Ministry of Interior stated that the central operations centers and rooms and the field and specialized work teams were fully prepared to proactively deal with the weather situation, pointing out that its teams worked in a preventive manner to ensure the safety of lives and property. She confirmed that she will continue her tasks and field work, to ensure the smooth flow of traffic on all roads affected by the weather condition. In turn, the National Center of Meteorology confirmed the end of the weather condition, as the severity of the condition gradually eased from the end of the day on Thursday and receded in the north and east of the country, indicating that it is working around the clock to provide effective and continuous weather forecasts and information.
The Center expected that the amount of clouds would decrease today, with the continued chance of light to moderate rain, pointing out that this May will witness a gradual rise in temperatures in most regions of the country.
