Since March, the Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered 43,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Donbass and neutralized 46,000 tons of explosives in the region. This was announced on Tuesday, July 19, by the head of the department Alexander Kurenkov.
“In total, since the beginning of March, 540 columns of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have delivered almost 43,000 tons of humanitarian cargo. The territory of about 246 hectares was cleared, more than 46 thousand explosive objects were found. Sanitation and provision of water supply to settlements is being carried out. This work will be continued,” he said during a working meeting with the heads of the rescue departments of Donbass.
Kurenkov also congratulated the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the DPR Alexei Kostrubitsky on being awarded the title “Hero of the Donetsk People’s Republic”.
“The award testifies to the courage, heroism and diligence that you showed in the performance of your official duty to protect the population of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” he said.
On July 17, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the delivery of humanitarian aid to the village of Nikolskoye, Kherson region. With a request to organize the delivery of humanitarian cargo, local residents applied through a humanitarian aid center located in the region. They collected lists of necessary medicines and products, after which they handed them over to the center.
On July 16, the Russian military delivered humanitarian aid to Lisichansk in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). Residents of the city received cereals, pasta, butter, tea, canned food, sugar, sweets for children and diapers.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the background of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
