It is well known that the company called Embracer Group is going through a complicated situation, more so due to the fact that they are closing game studios left and right, as well as laying off a large part of the staff in pursuit of a restructuring to improve performance. For that reason they have made a decision that may attract attention, and that is the division of the company into three different branches.
These would be the divisions: Asmodee Group, Coffee Stain & Friends and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends. It is said that each one will be independent that will be listed on the stock market. The move comes after the aforementioned restructuring plan that has seen hundreds of employees lose their jobs, several studios close, and the sale of developers including gearboxand the creator of the remake of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Saber Interactive.
This is how each one will be handled: Asmodee will serve as board game editor. Coffee Stain & Friends will focus on independent, premium A/AA and free-to-play games for PC, console and mobile devices and Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends They will focus on the development and publication of AAA games for PC and consoles, as well as the management of the intellectual property of The Lord of the Rings and Tomb Raider.
This was mentioned by the executive director, Lars Wingefors:
This move has been made with the intention of unleashing the full potential of each team and providing them with their own leadership and strategic direction. This is the beginning of a new chapter, a chapter of which I intend to continue being a part as an active, committed and supportive shareholder of the three new entities, with an everlasting horizon. This move into three independent companies reinforces Embracer's vision of supporting entrepreneurs and creators with a long-term mindset, allowing them to continue delivering unforgettable experiences for players and fans around the world.
With all this in mind, we will have to see the date of the division in the next few weeks.

Editor's note: It is definitely going to be a time of gigantic changes in the gaming industry. Let's hope that with this they get good games, and they stop firing people due to supposed restructuring.
