In the Kharkiv region, a new state symbolism for the liberated territories was approved: a coat of arms and a flag. This was announced on Friday, July 8, by the press service of the military-civilian administration (CAA) of the region.
The image of a golden double-headed eagle with a scepter and an orb in its paws will be used as a coat of arms.
“The coat of arms of the Kharkiv region is a golden double-headed eagle with a heraldic shield. The state in the left paw of an eagle is a symbol of the historical roots of the Kharkiv region as an integral part of the Russian lands, ”the local administration explained.
The new flag is a panel of three horizontal stripes: the top is crimson, the middle is blue and the bottom is red.
Earlier, on July 6, it became known that the Russian language became the official language for documentation in the liberated territory of the region. From now on, the Ukrainian language is considered a regional language.
On the same day, Vitaly Ganchev, head of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration, announced the desire of the authorities and the population of the liberated territories to see the region as part of the Russian Federation.
At the moment, about 20% of the territory of the Kharkiv region has been liberated. There is still a tense situation there. In addition, both the Ukrainian hryvnia and the Russian ruble operate in the region. The course was set on June 25 – 1.5 rubles per hryvnia.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted, Russian troops pursue two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people. Shortly before the outbreak of hostilities, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR).
