Elisa Mouliaá: “I have not dared to denounce Errejón until now, but if I didn’t it would weigh on my conscience”

First he posted a tweet, then he went to the police station. Actress Elisa Mouliaá denounced Sumar’s former spokesperson, Íñigo Errejón, for sexual harassment this Thursday, shortly after the deputy announced his resignation amid allusions to an alleged “contradiction between the character and the person,” which at first sounded cryptic and They subsequently caused consternation: Errejón had been accused of “sexist behavior” and his party had forced him to resign.

The complaints were, a priori, anonymous and posted on social networks through different channels and at different times – the most recent, through Cristina Fallarás’ Instagram account, which did not openly mention Errejón; another, through a Twitter thread in 2023, now deleted. Shortly after six-thirty on Thursday afternoon, the actress and presenter Elisa Mouliaá also took to Twitter, but this time using names and surnames: “Hello, I am a victim of sexual harassment by Iñigo Errejon and I want to report it.” , wrote.

After half past eleven at night, and while the news of the politician’s resignation was still being processed, Mouliaá took a step further, and went to the Family and Women’s Care Unit (UFAM) to report what happened to Errejón. “Do you feel like you are a victim of a sexual crime?” asked the agents who took your statement, as recorded in the complaint accessed by elDiario.es. “Yes,” she replied.

In this complaint, which consists of five pages, Mouliaá explains in detail what can be understood as a sexual assault by Errejón. The events occurred at the end of September 2021, a night when Errejón accompanied the actress to a party, after having been talking to her on Instagram and Telegram for a year. Mouliaá recounts in her complaint how Errejón kissed her, groped her without her consent, grabbed her arm “strongly” and “forcibly took her” to a room that he locked at that party. The abuse continued later at the politician’s house.

“When all this came out I thought: either I tell it or I blow up.”

Mouliaá told elDiario.es that she felt “fatal”, “invaded”, “saturated” and “very disappointed”. “I didn’t know if he was playing,” explains the woman. “It seems incredible to me that I have to tell you that only yes means yes,” she says that she came to say to Errejón, who ended up asking her “forgiveness” and telling her that this conversation was useful “for future meetings,” while she remained “frozen.” “, according to what the interpreter told elDiario.es. “I took a taxi and left,” he says.

The actress immediately told her friends and family. In fact, she presented a screenshot to the police in which she told the events to a friend at that time. “I felt very uncomfortable,” emphasizes Mouliaá, who then only managed to silence Errejón on networks, where until then they followed each other. “I have not dared to report it because I have a daughter and you are afraid,” the woman confesses.

Three years after the attack, Mouliaá considered that “he had turned the page.” Until yesterday. “I was watching TV, I saw that people were starting to say that these anonymous complaints could be false and that it could be a political trick,” he says. “And I thought: ‘No, no, here there is going to be someone with a first and last name who will say no.’ And I let it go because I thought it was necessary to contribute something to all this,” he admits.

“We women come first,” Mouliaá reflects now. “When all this came out I thought: either I tell it or I blow up. “I knew it was going to weigh on my conscience.”
