Electronic Arts has unveiled Imagination to Creation, a new AI game development tool, and it looks pretty awesome.
During his last Investor Day, Electronic Arts presented Imagination to Creationa tool for creating video games, more specifically game content, based on generative artificial intelligence. It was demonstrated by Chief Strategy Officer Mihir Vaidya, who underlined the simplicity of how everything that can be seen on the screen happens, which for the record is a demonstration of feasibility, therefore not the definitive tool.
A tool that accelerates development?
Basically Imagination to Creation is based on user prompts. In the video we can see an empty scenario with only water. The AI asks the user how it can help. From here comes the request for make a maze out of cardboard boxeswhich is immediately executed.
Then the AI is asked to make the maze more complex. Again there was no problem, with the maze being expanded. Then it was asked to create a level with more floors. As you can imagine this was done too.
At this point the prompts started to define the rules of the game: “create two characters with weapons”, then asked to show the 1v1 combat options and several modes appeared. After selecting the deathmatch one, the game started. During the gameplay, the AI was asked to add the rule that you can only die if hit by grenades. Finally, it was asked to “make everything more epic” and Imagination to Creation generated a sort of temple, again with cardboard boxes.
It must be said that many elements of the game seemed preset, so it is clear that the tool is aimed at working within a certain platform, especially for the creation of content. Regardless, it looks really impressive.
