Elections 2022: Flixbus offer for those who do not want to give up the vote

Elections 2022: FlixBus relaunches the #IoVoglioVotare initiative

In view of the national elections, FlixBus launches the initiative #I want to votewith which it will reimburse the outward journey of all the people who in the week of the vote, between Monday 19 September and Sunday 25 September, choose to reach their municipality of residence on board the green buses.

The initiative stems from the awareness of two factors: the first is the growth of abstention in Italy, reported, among others, by the poll portal YouTrend, which estimates a turnout of around 65% in the elections of 25 September, outlining the risk of a record abstention in our country. The second factor is, specifically, the increase in youth abstention: SWG predicts that only 48% of the population aged between 18 and 34 will vote, with an estimated turnout down by 7 percentage points compared to in the 2018 elections.

An obstacle is often represented by the cost of the trip: according to Istat data, in Italy 4.9 million people study or work in a municipality other than that of residence. Many of these, mostly young people, may have to renounce to exercise their right to vote due to the impossibility of supporting this potentially very large expense.

With #IoVoglioVotare, FlixBus intends to promote the civic commitment of those who will go to the polling stations, reimbursing all the trips made to the municipality of residence in the week of the vote, between 19 and 25 September. The initiative is valid on all national and international operational connections with Italy, and will also apply to trips made to return to Sicily in view of the regional elections on 25 September.

We are convinced that initiatives like this constitute a small but indispensable contribution to the maintenance of democracy, and every contribution that we will be able to make in this sense will represent an extra victory for our country “, he declared. All conditions of the offer:

-To obtain travel reimbursement, those returning with FlixBus to their municipality of residence must send the following to [email protected]: two photos of their electoral card (one of the first page containing personal information, the other of the page on to which the voting stamp has been affixed), a photo of your identity card or driving license and the FlixBus ticket of the journey made.

-Photos shared on social media will not be considered as a condition for requesting a refund.

-The initiative is valid only for bookings made through the free FlixBus app;
– Valid for travel to all FlixBus destinations in Italy, even with departure from abroad;
– Reimbursement form: a voucher with a value equal to the amount of the outward journey made to reach the municipality of residence, valid from 25 September to 30 November 2022 and from 11 January to 31 March 2023
-The voucher can be used in a single transaction: if the credit is not used up in the purchase, it cannot be used for a subsequent purchase
– Refund method: send to [email protected] the photos of the electoral card and identity document and the FlixBus ticket relating to the journey made
