An elderly couple and their son-in-law were found dead last Friday, 24th, at the couple’s residence, in Agudos, in the interior of São Paulo. According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the bodies were found by the couple’s daughter and son-in-law’s wife, who called the police. The case was registered as a homicide. There was no robbery at the residence.
The three bodies were in different rooms of the house, which is located on Avenida João Pessoa, in the Professor Simões neighborhood, and showed “signs of stab wounds”, says the SSP. Teams from Samu and the Fire Department arrived at the scene even before the police and found the deaths.
“The witness, who called the police, said she was worried about her husband, who had gone out to exercise, without taking his cell phone. Upon arriving at her parents’ house to obtain information from her husband, the woman found the three dead, one in each room,” the security department said in a statement. “No valuables were stolen.”
According to a community news page in Agudos on Facebook, the victims were Joana de Fátima Santos Tosta, aged 70, Aparecido Roberto Carrasco, aged 74, and Valdinei de Souza, aged 57. The SSP confirmed the ages of the victims.
The incident was registered as a homicide at the Agudos Police Station and an on-site investigation was called to investigate what happened. The bodies of the victims were sent for necroscopic examination and, this Sunday, 26, they were laid to rest and buried in the Agudos Cemetery.
