What is the difference between the two versions of Elden Ring? Digital Foundry to the report.
It is the turn of Digital Foundry to sum up the technical sector of Elden Ring, one of the most anticipated games of next year coming out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. It is precisely the current generation console versions that are the subject of the meticulous analysis of the British editorial team, tested in all available modes.
On the two flagship consoles of their respective manufacturers, the mode Performance makes the resolution travel between 1512p and 1800p, with a very slight point in favor of the Sony console, a practically indistinguishable but present difference, data in hand. As for the framerate, also in this case the oscillation gives 45 to 60fps it makes itself felt, but it is still felt a little less on PS5, whose framerate is more stable. The Xbox Series S Performance Mode also has variable resolution, between 1792 × 1008 and the 2560 × 1440, but its framerate is the most unstable: it oscillates, in fact, between 40 and 60fps.
In the mode Quality, both flagships arrive at the 2160p and the Series S resolution stays at 1440p, but their framerate still remains very variable between 30 and 45fps, to the point that, the editors suggest, a lock at 30fps would have been much preferable.
Digital Foundry is keen to remember, however, that the tests were carried out on a product still in beta, therefore it will be necessary to wait at least for the release day of the work From Software, February 25, 2022, to see more accurate results.
