The winners were officially announced at the World Summit on the Information Society Forum, during the ceremony held in Switzerland, where the project achieved the most votes in its category, as it was selected as the winning project based on a group of experts’ review of the five best voted projects, after the nomination of 360 projects for the voting phase that took place earlier and saw more than 1.3 million votes cast.
The World Summit on the Information Society 2022 represents the largest annual gathering in the world of the “information technology” community for development. It was co-organized by the International Telecommunication Union, UNESCO, the United Nations Development Program and UNCTAD, in close cooperation with the participants of the WSIS Action Line.
