The Department of Education and Knowledge has identified eight requirements that nurseries in Abu Dhabi must adhere to to ensure a healthy environment for children, as part of its keenness on the health and safety of children enrolled in nurseries.
The department stated on its website that the nursery inspection model consists of two basic elements that include support and an inspection visit, to improve the quality of education and care provided in nurseries, noting the need for nursery operators to ensure that the nursery building is safe and healthy at all times, and includes indoor and outdoor spaces. It is commensurate with the number and ages of children. Security and safety requirements must be adhered to, and staff should be qualified and made aware of its importance and impact on the educational environment in the nursery.
She added that the inspection and evaluation process for nurseries in Abu Dhabi is based on three stages, which were selected and identified to ensure the completion of the evaluation process according to approved international standards. The first stage includes evaluation before inspection, the second stage is inspection, and the third stage is follow-up after inspection.
The department stressed that providing a healthy educational environment for children in nurseries is one of the priorities that it is working to implement and follow up, noting that there are eight conditions that nurseries in Abu Dhabi must adhere to to ensure a healthy environment for children in nurseries, including taking all necessary precautions to prevent pollution and the spread of diseases, and employing appropriate measures. To deal with injuries and sick children, to take preventive measures and health guidance, especially with regard to the areas of child health and nutrition, the benefits of breastfeeding, prevention of diseases, accidents and the harmful effects of smoking, setting the necessary policies and programs in this regard, and taking the necessary measures to prevent and protect children from the use of narcotics, intoxicants, stimulants and all kinds of substances Influencing the mind or contributing to its production, trafficking or promotion.
The rest of the requirements include supporting the school health system in the field of prevention, treatment and health guidance, taking the necessary measures to prevent infectious, dangerous and chronic diseases, providing the necessary vaccinations and immunizations, developing programs for training workers in the child and mother health sector and preparing them to achieve the objectives of this law, and carrying out psychological care, including The mental, linguistic and social development of the child, in addition to taking the necessary measures for early detection of children to diagnose disabilities and chronic diseases.
