Many are asking Techland why the version Xbox Series S from Dying Light 2 Stay Human only go to 30FPS. The answer was Tymon Smektala, the lead designer of the game, on Twitter, where he explained that the fundamental problem is the GPUevidently too underpowered to aim for 60fps.
Smektala, to whom all our sympathy goes to the image of Moon Patrol in the header of the profile, explained that “First we are fixing the problems of the co-op mode, because the high number of players has crashed the servers (let’s imagine that “sewers is a typo) by Sony / Microsoft / Epic. Motion sickness will be fixed in the next patch. FOV + motion blur will be taken into account for the next one. We’ll also be looking at 30fps on Series S, but the console GPU is a hindrance.“
The developer didn’t exactly explain what the problem is, but it’s not hard to understand: the GPU isn’t as powerful as that of the Xbox Series X or PS5, so optimize towards 60fps it becomes a big problem, unless you sacrifice a lot of graphic detail.
