An important growth
After the launch of the film Dune: Part Twothe strategic Dune: Spice Wars is experiencing a bit of a renaissance in terms of contemporary players. For now we are not talking about huge peaks, but still the increase is significant, as detected by SteamDB.
Evidently there are many people who, having seen the film, have been looking for a video game dedicated to Dune. The only ones they found on Steam are the board game Dune: Imperium and, indeed, the game by Shiro Games, of which the DLC House Vernius of Ix is arriving on March 7th. In reality there would also be Funcom's Dune: Awakening, but it isn't out yet.
A significant increase
Last month Dune: Spice Wars had peak daily player numbers of around 400 people. Over the weekend, however, they rose above one thousand, reaching 1,800 units in agility.
Seeing these player movements is really interesting, because it shows in a plastic way theinfluence across different media, even among only partially related works (Dune: Spice Wars is a 4X not related to the film). It is not the first time that a cinematic success makes a video game return to success (think of the sales made by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt after the arrival of the Netflix TV series).
