Funcom, as promised, has unveiled the gameplay Of Dune: Awakening with a dedicated live event, from which the trailer titled “Survive Arrakis” which showed something of the game, after the first computer graphics video that served as a teaser.
The game is a Survival MMO announced in 2022 by Funcom, which was shown in the trailer below in more detail, although mixing narrative elements with others that actually seem to be taken from the actual gameplay.
Setting and characteristics are clearly derived from the reference universe and in particular from the new interpretation given by Denis Villeneuve's films.
The release of Dune 2 at the cinema in this period could give a notable boost to Dune: Awakening, a game which by its nature will have to count on a solid community of dedicated players, given its MMO survival nature.
The basic elements of Dune are easily visible: thesetting it is clearly Arrakis, the famous sandy planet rich in spice but also in various pitfalls and threats, for the control of which different factions clash in a particularly violent war.
In the trailer we can see some game elements such as the possibility of collecting resources through a specific tool, moments of combat and crossing scenarios also using vehicles various.
Among these the typical ornithopter of the saga could not be missing, as well as gigantic sand worms and other typical elements. We can glimpse the construction of the base and its customization, as well as the customization of the character with various equipment to best survive on the desert planet of Dune.
There is no release date yet but it is confirmed that Dune: Awakening will arrive on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
