The Dubai Sports Council and the Desert Vipers Cricket Team in Dubai announced the launch of an initiative to achieve sustainability in stadiums and sporting events in Dubai, organizing a sustainability match for the Vipers team with the Gulf Giants team at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, and launching a school program to introduce sustainability and cricket in all schools in Dubai in cooperation with Sports Spirit Events Company.
This came during a press conference held at the Dubai Sports Council headquarters, and attended by Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Avram Glazer, owner of the Desert Vipers team that competes in the DB World T20 Cricket Championship, Philip Oliver, CEO of the team, and Nasser Aman Al Rahma. Assistant Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council and a number of executive directors of Dubai clubs and organizers of sports tournaments in Dubai.
Saeed Hareb said: “There is a meeting to unify efforts between the Dubai Sports Council and the Desert Fiber team in order to enhance sustainability in sports for the future of the nation and the world, as sustainability occupies a major place in the rational government’s approach as well as in the work of the Council and is at the forefront of our goals within the strategic plan for the sector.” Sports 2024-2033, and it occupies a major position in the “Desert Fiber” team, in order to support sustainability applications in our stadiums and sports tournaments. New cricket tournaments will be added in cooperation with Desert Fiber.
