Drivers and Manufacturers Standings after the 2024 French Round | FP

Toprak Razgatlioglu’s domination came to an end in the first round of the championship after the summer break at Magny-Cours. After four consecutive rounds in which the Turkish BMW rider had won Race 1, Superpole Race and Race 2, as well as taking all the pole positions, the #54 rider did not take part in the French Round following a very bad accident in FP2. A back contusion that could have had much worse consequences if the impact against the barriers had occurred differently, but fortunately the injury did not turn out to be as serious as feared, with Razgatlioglu still declared ‘unfit’ for the entire weekend. A weekend in which Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista also remained in the pits, both on Sunday due to other injuries after two crashes. Without the big names, Bulega returned to victory in the Superpole Race and Race 2 after Van der Mark’s victory in Race 1. The Ducati rider’s one-two has rekindled hopes in the title fight with four rounds to go, with the #11 now 55 points behind Razgatlioglu, who also maintains the lead in the standings as does BMW in the Constructors’ championship, with the German manufacturer 10 points ahead of their rivals from Borgo Panigale.
